30 Back-To-School Color Palettes Posted: 11 Sep 2014 05:00 AM PDT What colors do you associate with going back to school? The green (or black) of a chalkboard? Your school colors? Today's schoolchildren might better related to multi-colored marks on dry erase whiteboards or the color of their home screens. Certainly, the classroom experience has changed since many of us attended school, but some back-to-school themes will perhaps always be shared: the turning of the autumn leaves, for example, or Friday night lights. Whether compiled for specific projects or simply out of personal nostalgia, the following 30 color palettes represent a return to school for their designers (except for those culled from Design Seeds, which I picked for their themes). It's interesting how so many designers considered similar colors for back to school themes, yet striking that so many palettes are still so very different from one another. Do the colors we make associations with lend insight into our psyches? Our school experiences?
