The Good Hop, Oaklandish and More

Posted: 18 Jul 2014 08:00 AM PDT

One of the many cool things that separates PsPrint from the competition is our pickup centers. If you live by one of three our printing locations, you can save on shipping and pick up your print job at will call. Pretty awesome, right? It's like PsPrint is your friendly, local printer that also just happens to be online and available nationwide.

Thinking locally, we wanted to share some of the awesome designs printed by our Bay Area customers customers, including Oakland high school Bishop O’Dowd, long-time PsPrint customer Oaklandish, and new customer The Good Hop — a bottle shop and taproom that just opened in Oakland that boasts a variety of delicious brews on tap (and you know how much we at Hot Off the Press love beer).

Of course, we see great designs from all over the country, including a promotional poster for comedian Mike Birbiglia by Nick Van Berkum, and an eye-catching poster by artist Shannon Ashley McMann.

10 Quick Invitation Tips

Posted: 18 Jul 2014 05:03 AM PDT

Whether you're hosting a wedding, anniversary party or baby shower, invitations are the best way to get the word out about your event. Your invitations can also work to encourage greater attendance and RSVPs to help you with event planning. The following 10 quick invitation tips will help you print invitations that best represent your event.

1.  Custom design your invitations to match your event

It's your special day, so develop a creative custom design that captures the mood, spirit and essence of your event. You can download free invitation layout templates to use with your favorite design software and ensure a print-ready project.

2.  Don't forget themed envelopes

Your invitations can be delivered in custom-designed envelopes that likewise feature your theme.

3.  Seal with stickers

Forget licking or gluing envelopes; used custom-designed sticker seals instead to give your invitations an elegant touch.

4.  Include guest benefits

It's your event, but you can also promise guests a good time. Will you be featuring food, music, games, and dancing? Make sure your invitations spell out the great time your guests will have to encourage attendance.

5.  Give choices and deadlines

Encourage more RSVPs to help you plan by giving guests dinner or meat choices with a firm deadline to respond in order to have a meal at your event. You can include a pre-addressed (and even pre-stamped) response card in your invitation to make it easy for guests to respond.

6.  Use the design gallery

If you don't have a knack for graphic design, you can still craft custom invitations using PsPrint's design gallery. Select a design then customize your photos, text and colors.

7.  Include save-the-date magnets

Print save-the-date magnets for guests to place on their refrigerators so they're reminded to attend your special event every time they get a glass of milk.

8.  Have your printer mail invitations for you

Send your mailing list to your printing company and they'll take care of all the printing, envelope stuffing, addressing, and mailing. Save time, money, and hassles so you can get back to planning your event.

9.  Get discount premium invitation printing

Print invitations on premium paper stocks for a more elegant presentation, and look for invitation printing discounts to reduce your overall investment.

10.  Get a proof

Before you approve invitation printing, get a hardcopy proof if possible. If no hardcopy proof is available, opt for a digital proof. Either way, recruit another trusted person to help you double-check event information for accuracy, spelling and design errors.
