Get a Head Start On Your Holiday Printing

Posted: 23 Oct 2015 06:00 AM PDT

We realize it’s not even Halloween yet, but it’s never too early to start thinking about your holiday marketing campaign.

It’s best to get your holiday printing finished early, so you are ready to hit the ground running as soon as the holidays kicks into gear in November.

All our holiday cards, including folded holiday cards and flat holiday cards, as well as other holiday-related printing such as calendars and gift tags, are on sale through the end of the year. What can we say? We here at PsPrint are just the giving type. Plus, we know that holiday printing is important for businesses who want to reach out to customers, nonprofits seeking donations and regular ol’ folks like me who like to send out holiday greetings to family and friends.

PsPrint customer Alameda County Community Food Bank got a head start on its holiday printing. The nonprofit organization has already printed its greeting cards and envelopes. You can check them out below along with several other cool customer designs that rolled off the PsPrint printing presses.

10 Horror Movie Posters for Halloween Design Inspiration

Posted: 20 Oct 2015 05:00 AM PDT

image[43]

The horror genre has produced some of the most iconic movies posters of all time: “Jaws,” “Halloween” and “The Fly,” for starters. While some horror movie posters depict gruesome imagery that delivers a shock factor, I think the best horror movie posters are understated – they offer just a hint of the horrors within. Such designs are intriguing, and intrigue creates desire and motivates response. It's a great marketing strategy, which is why you can draw on the following 10 horror movie posters for Halloween design inspiration (all posters and their variations can be found on International Movie Poster Awards).

1. The Strangers

We don't need blood and guts – or even a screaming woman – to find this movie poster terrifying.

2. All The Boys Love Mandy Lane

Would a rose by any other name be so insidious?

all_the_boys_love_mandy_lane_ver6

3. The Exorcist

A possessed Linda Blair wouldn't have been as creepy as this design; the priest is cast as a shadow in the light of an otherworldly power.

4. Funny Games

A picture can be worth a thousands words; or, in this case, a thousand questions. Why is this woman so distraught?

5. The Silence of the Lambs

This film features some of the most memorable and grisly scenes in horror cinema, but its understated poster doesn't need them to give us the creeps.

6. Silver Bullet

One of a handful of werewolf-themed 1980's flicks that didn't need blood – or even the villain – to deliver a chilling poster.

7. Rosemary's Baby

Is the baby in danger, or THE danger?

rosemarys_baby

8. Fright Night

The illustrated clouds lend a sense of the fate that is about to descend on the house below. A classic 1980's horror movie poster!

9. Friday the 13th

Framing the campers in the killer's silhouette? Genius!

friday_the_thirteenth

10. Grace

What's in the bottle… is it blood? Why? Another intriguing poster that begs us to watch the film.

Consider how these movie posters eschew the grotesque in favor of symbolism, understatement, and intrigue; then apply those same principles to your own Halloween designs. And when you're ready to bring your work to live – whether you're designing a poster or postcard – get premium printing at discount prices from PsPrint.

Halloween Marketing Ideas that Scare Up Business

Posted: 19 Oct 2015 05:08 AM PDT

image[40]

Looking for Halloween marketing ideas that will drive business and scare up sales? The following Halloween marketing ideas are proven strategies for boosting business in late October.

1. How-to booklets

Print booklets that show your target audience how to do something relevant to your business for Halloween. For example:

  • a retailer could print a guide to Halloween decorating
  • a party planner could print a guide on how to throw a successful Halloween party
  • a fabric supplier could print a guide detailing how to sew Halloween costumes
  • a child-safety product retailer could print a guide offering save trick or treating tips

Consider how you can help your customers accomplish their Halloween-related goals, then showcase your products and services throughout your booklet to drive traffic to your business.

2. Send Halloween catalogs

Halloween catalogs are staple marketing tools for costume and décor retailers, and for good reason: they serve as inspiration and motivate customers to buy direct. A great Halloween catalog lets you bypass competitors by going straight to your customers – they buy from you instead of researching dozens of your competitors.

Print full-color Halloween catalogs to showcase your Halloween costumes, decorations, candies, party supplies, and other products; then send your catalogs to a well-targeted mailing list. Add in special time-limited Halloween savings to boost response rate.

3. Send Halloween postcards

Multi-page Halloween catalogs not in your marketing budget? Print postcards instead. You can design your postcards to highlight a representative sample of your retail product offering, then direct customers to visit your website or app to see your full catalog. Make your postcard a coupon to generate measurable response.

Service businesses can also take advantage of postcards for Halloween marketing, even if your business has nothing to do with Halloween. A mechanic, for example, might send a postcard for a limited-time discount oil change before Halloween; or, a financial advisor might use Halloween as a springboard to encourage clients to begin considering how they can leverage end-of-year investments to lessen their tax burdens – before the winter holidays make life too busy to do so.

4. Print short-run posters

Hosting a Halloween party or other event? You don't need to invest in a 100-poster campaign; instead, minimize your investment and still reach targeted venues with short-run poster printing. This strategy allows you to print only the posters you need, from one to fifty, so you can get the word out about your event without spending more than you need.

Short-run Halloween posters also let you create different designs to target different types of customers. In this manner you can create highly-targeted postcard marketing campaigns for minimal investment.

5. Event invitations

Another great way to get guests to your Halloween party or sales event is to send Halloween invitations via direct-mail. Like postcards, you'll need a well-targeted mailing list (they're easy to make) and an attention-getting design.

Your invitations should make your invitees feel special and wanted, and should make your event out to be the can't-miss Halloween party of the year. Offer a VIP special to people who RSVP early: premium seating, for example, or a free appetizer. You can also offer a discount on the entire bill, whether you operate a restaurant, bar, or retail store.

You don't have to don a costume and stand by the highway to scare up sales this Halloween – instead, take advantage of these tried-and-true Halloween marketing ideas to boost profits this Halloween. Start planning your Halloween marketing campaign now!

Market Your Halloween Event with Short-Run Posters

Posted: 14 Oct 2015 05:00 AM PDT

image[39]

Are you planning a Halloween party or other Halloween event? You'll need a great marketing campaign to get the word out and attract guests to your spooky shindig, especially since so many competitors are likely hosting their own fright fest. Whether you're a night club hosting a Halloween party or a haunted attraction seeking paying attendees, short-run posters are perfect for marketing your Halloween event without breaking the bank.

Advantages to short-run posters for Halloween event marketing

Short-run posters offer several benefits for Halloween event marketing. Those include:

No minimum quantity: You can print as few posters as you need (even just one), so you don't have to invest in an expensive campaign to market your Halloween party or other event.

Targeted designs: Since you can order single posters, short-run posters allow you the freedom to create targeted designs for different venue placement. So, you could print one design to target your existing customers and a different design to target the public at large, for example, without increasing your printing fees.

Premium quality: When you order short-run posters from PsPrint, your posters will be printed on state-of-the-art digital printing presses for eye-popping quality.

How much do short-run posters cost?

With short-run poster printing, you can launch a powerful Halloween event marketing campaign at a price that's affordable for any size business. Ten 11-inch by 17-inch posters printed on 100 lb. gloss cover stock cost around $90; and you can print them even cheaper by taking advantage of printing discounts of up to 60 percent. At that rate, 10 posters cost just $36.27.

Thus, with a well-targeted poster distribution strategy you can launch a powerful Halloween poster marketing campaign for less than $40. Boost attendance for your Halloween event with short-run poster printing today.

5 Killer Ways to Market Your Haunted House

Posted: 13 Oct 2015 05:00 AM PDT

background-313573_640-Optimized

Haunted houses and other spooky attractions are big money, representing a $300 million industry in which big players can earn up to $3 million annually and smaller attractions can bring in more than $50,000 (CNBC). The haunted house industry continues to grow at a rapid pace, which means stiff competition for sending bigger and better chills down spook-seekers' spines. If you operate a haunted house, you need a powerful marketing campaign to drive customers to your attraction. The following lists five killer ways to market your haunted house.

1. Public appearances

Make a big splash with promotional appearances at other events leading up to the Halloween season. Buy a used hearse and outfit it in decorations that match your haunted house theme, then drive it through summertime parades and park it in prominent locations. Add bumper stickers and car door magnets that promote your haunted house and your website, where customers can find more information and purchase tickets.

Attend summer and fall festivals in character, and hand out flyers and stickers promoting your haunted attraction to everyone you can. Employ a street team to scare up some business by visiting local bars, hanging around outside movie theaters, or passing out flyers in shopping malls. You can also print business cards with special discount coupons – a percentage off your haunt, for example, or a group rate.

2. Banner displays

Scope out busy intersections and get permission to place banner displays on corner lots. Dress mannequins in themed costumes and orchestrate a haunted scene. In front, place a large banner advertising your haunted attraction, dates and website.

You can make your scene extra-creepy – and attention-getting – by adding lights that make it glow supernatural colors at night. If you don't have access to electrical outlets, purchase battery-powered lights. Make sure your banner is illuminated so passers-by know how to find more information and buy tickets.

3. Send spooky invitations

Define who your target customer is, then create a mailing list comprised of people who meet your best-customer demographics. Design a spooky invitation to send to your mailing list. Direct-mail might represent a sizable investment, but it's not wasteful – by sending your invitations to a well-targeted audience, you stand an excellent chance of yielding an excellent return on your investment.

Your invitations should be attention-getting and feature your most notable attractions. Tell customers how to get more information, and add a discount coupon you can use to track your return on investment. Even better, ask customers to share your Facebook page to get an extra discount. In this manner, you not only reach likely customers, you also get the promotional power of social shares.

4. Posters, posters everywhere!

Print large posters to place everywhere you can – because haunted house images are startling, they're practically guaranteed to command attention. Your posters should be on bulletin boards, windows and doors at:

  • Grocery stores
  • Restaurants
  • Bars
  • Public parks
  • Shopping malls
  • Gas stations
  • Banks
  • Colleges and high schools
  • And anywhere else you can distribute them

5. Facebook, of course

The same images that command attention for your posters can be posted on Facebook and boosted with targeted ads aimed at your customer base. Use Ads Manager or Power Editor, rather than the boost feature, to define your target audience and get the most out of your Facebook ad campaigns.

Consider holding a Facebook contest, giving away free tickets each week, and/or offering a behind-the-scenes look at your haunted house to engage Facebook fans and scare up more sales this season.

Whether you're a seasoned veteran of the haunted attraction industry or embarking on your first haunted endeavor, you can employ these haunted house marketing tips to take profits to terrifying new heights.
